Kappeland

Live installation, 1700m2 of textiles
2007
Youngstorget / Oslo Open
Collaboration with Runa Carlsen

Kappeland is a collaborative project with nomadic implications, questioning things like who takes use, and who gets a saying in the public. The title comes from an old childrens game, best translated as “Land Capture”, and the aim is to catch as much land as possible from a field. The textiles were donated from different institutions and individuals in Oslo. We spent the day with people who came by. Some sat down and had lunch, others played on the textiles. When the day was over, the textiles were given to the Salvation Army.
